Stainless steel technical cloth and sieve mesh
Technical cloth is a fine woven stainless mesh whose aperture is measured in tenths of a millimetre. It is used where fine material has to be separated, or a liquid or air filtered.
Our range runs from a 0.10 mm aperture up to 5 mm, with wire from 0.063 mm upwards. The material is stainless steel, which stands up to damp, heat and cleaning, and gives the filtered material neither taste nor colour.
We sell technical cloth by the square metre, so you do not have to buy a whole roll.

Where it is used
Filtration
Filters for liquids and air, where a set particle size has to be held back and the filter cleaned repeatedly.
Screening
Grading fine material into fractions, in the laboratory and in production.
Food industry
Stainless material stands up to washing and heat and gives food no off-taste.
Guarding and screening
Insect mesh, covers over ventilation openings and technical screens, where a very fine aperture is needed.
How to choose
Aperture size
The aperture is what passes through. Choose it smaller than the particle to be held back. For a filter, allow also for the aperture blinding over time.
Wire thickness
Finer wire gives a greater open area and better flow, but a more delicate cloth. Heavier wire stands up better to washing and mechanical load.
