Woven wire fencing in rolls

Woven wire fencing, also known as chain link, is the most traditional and economical way to enclose a site. The wires are woven into a diamond aperture, which makes the mesh flexible and lets it follow uneven ground.

The catalogue holds both hot-dip galvanized and PVC-coated mesh, with a 50 × 50 mm aperture, in heights of 1000-1700 mm and roll lengths of 10-25 m.

Woven fencing has to be tensioned as it is installed. The mesh is pulled straight between the posts with a tensioning wire. Without tensioning it sags over time.

Where it is used

Domestic boundary fence

An economical way to enclose a plot.

Gardens and keeping animals

Chicken runs, garden boundaries and dog runs.

Temporary fencing

Seasonal fencing and fencing during building work.

How to choose

Coating

Hot-dip galvanized mesh is cheaper and stands up well outdoors. PVC-coated mesh has an even colour and lasts longer, particularly near the sea.

Height and roll length

Choose the roll length so that as few joins as possible are left. A join is the weakest point in a fence.

Tensioning

Woven fencing needs a tensioning wire along the top and bottom edge, or it sags.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between woven and welded fencing?

Woven fencing is flexible and cheaper, but it has to be tensioned and can sag over time. Welded fencing holds its shape but costs more.

Does the mesh have to be tensioned?

Yes. Woven mesh has to be pulled straight between the posts with a tensioning wire, or it sags.
